Call ARPH Early Career Award 2025

We would like to inform you that we are looking for submissions for the ARPH Early Career Award in the context of the upcoming ARPH conference (27.03 – 28.03.2025, Heerlen, the Netherlands). The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 28th 2025. If you think there are promising and deserving young researchers within your groups, we encourage you to apply. The award is meant for researchers in the first stage of their independent research career.
Applicants must have obtained their doctorate within the last five years. Nominations can be sent
by a senior researcher with at least 10 years of working experience within the field of health
psychology, and with the candidates’ agreement. The nominated candidate should be a current
member of ARPH (or have applied to become member before the submission deadline) and have
attended at least one ARPH conference in the last 3 years. The candidate is also expected to attend this year’s ARPH conference to receive the award in person.

The nomination should include:
• A letter of recommendation by the senior researcher
• A current CV of the candidate

The letter should explain the outstanding scientific and/or societal contribution of the research
work done by the candidate and will be evaluated based on scientific achievements, science
communication, open science practices, and academic citizenship. The letter and CV should be
sent to the chair of the jury Dr. Kai Karos (kai.karos@maastrichtuniversity.nl) before
February 28th 2025.

The winner of this award will receive the award at the upcoming ARPH conference in March of 2025
and will also get a waiver for the registration fees for the next ARPH conference in 2026.

Eligibility criteria:

Nominee:
– Demonstrates link with research for health psychology (e.g., research output, science communication, collaborations, societal impact)
– Obtained PhD within the last 5 years
– Must be a current ARPH member and have been to at least one previous ARPH conference within the last 3 years
– Must attend the upcoming ARPH conference in Heerlen to receive the prize

Nominator:
– Senior researcher with at least 10 years of work experience in research in health
psychology
