The congress will take place at Auberge De Rousch in Heerlen. In addition, the Auberge de Rousch hotel is located here, where the conference dinner and party will also be held. All facilities are within walking distance of each other.

 

Coming to the conference by public transport

From Heerlen central station, there is a direct bus service to the conference location. Please use bus 1 or bus 2 heading towards Bleijerheide, bus 44 heading toward Aachen, or bus 658 heading towards Gulpen. Get off the bus at the “Henri Dunantstraat” stop to arrive in front of the conference venue. It will take you approximately 20 minutes from Heerlen central station to the conference venue. Coming to the conference by car

For the conference, please navigate to Kloosterkensweg 17, 6419 PJ in Heerlen. Free parking is available at the hotel Auberge de Rousch and Van der Valk. There is also (paid) parking around the adjacent hospital.

 

At ARPH, we are committed to making our conference as sustainable as possible. Here are

some of the measures we are taking:

  • Local keynotes: We chose local speakers who can easily reach the conference by train or car, avoiding long-distance flights.

  • Digital program: To reduce paper usage, we are offering a digital-only version of the conference program, encouraging attendees to use online resources.

  • Sustainable catering: Meals will be vegetarian and made with locally sourced ingredients.

  • Sustainable travel: ARPH is encouraging traveling by public transportation and carpooling. Therefore, we chose a venue easily accessible by public transportation.

  • Energy-conscious venue: The conference will be hosted at a venue committed to energy efficiency and minimal waste.

The conference will take place on March 27th and 28th 2024. The program starts on March 27 around 10:00 AM, and the program ends on March 28 around 5:00 PM. Registration for the conference is possible here (including information on registration fees), the program can be found here, and guidelines for presentations can be found here. It is not possible to join the conference online, and the sessions will not be recorded. There is no dresscode for the conference.

The conference dinner is included in the conference fee and starts at 19:00 PM on the 27th of March. From the Auberge de Rousch hotel, the dinner location is within walking distance. From the Van der Valk hotel, it’s a 6-minute drive or 50-minute walk to the conference dinner and party location. The expected walk-in time is between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m., but the final start time can be found in the program. There is no end time. There is also no dress code, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in! 😊

Discounted overnight stays can be booked at Hotel Auberge De Rousch and Hotel Van der Valk in Heerlen. You will be informed through our newsletter regarding the booking.  Check in is from 14:00 the Rousch and from 15:00 at Van der Valk. Check out is possible at both hotels until 11:00 am. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available. Allergies that need to be taken into account can be communicated via email address arph.heerlen2025@ou.nl.
